A DIY hand sanitizer recipe from Seagrape Apothecary

Seagrape Apothecary is this really cool store in Portland that could use your support right about now. The woman-owned shop was burglarized recently and is rebuilding. They offer all the self-care goodness the world needs right now, including soap and other goodies that will help you de-stress from the madness.

Looking for hand sanitizer? Here’s a recipe to make it at home, courtesy of Seagrape. It will give you something to do this weekend while you’re staying away from crowds, and you’ll have a bunch to share with friends or store for later.

Hand sanitizer recipe:

  1. 1 cup of 91% isopropyl alcohol (or Everclear)
  2. ½ cup of aloe vera gel
  3. 5 drops of tea tree oil + 10 drops lavender oil (or other antibacterial essential oil)

Mix all the ingredients together and you’ve got hand sanitizer!
