7 Things You Must Do the Next Time You’re In Sedona

Have Your Aura Photographed

I can’t think of a better place to have your aura photographed than in Sedona. When in Rome, do as the Romans. Or, when in Sedona, immerse yourself in the metaphysical vibe of the town.

Go to Mystical Bazaar in West Sedona and you won’t be disappointed. For the nominal fee of $29, you sit and have your photo taken while laying your hand on sensors that connect with a computer program to analyze your chakras, energy level, and aura. You’ll receive a 23-page report that includes a personalized analysis of your aura color and chakra health. I had this done in March while visiting Sedona and enjoyed the experience. It was fun to do and then I had reading material while I was back in the hotel room relaxing after dinner. I kept the report – they give you a folder with your named scrawled on it – and have referred to it since being back home too.

Do Tai Chi or Meditate at One of Sedona’s Vortexes

Technically, all of Sedona is a vortex, but there are specific spots in Sedona where the energy is thought to be even more intense, the four vortexes. Doing Tai Chi or meditating at one of these landmarks can possibly help you focus all that extra energy radiating around you. Who knows, you might have a life-changing experience. The main vortex points in Sedona are the Airport Mesa, Bell Rock, Boynton Canyon, and Cathedral Rock. This link features a map of the vortexes and Sedona, with a fuller explanation of the Sedona vortexes.

Have a Slice at Famous Pizza & Beer

Famous Pizza & Beer quickly became my favorite place to eat in Sedona. The pizza is damn good, they have a great selection, and, like the name suggests, they offer great beer choices. Get it to-go or dine in, you won’t be disappointed. The price is reasonable and it’s one of the easier places to get in and out of in Sedona.

Visit the Chapel of the Holy Cross

I first visited this beautiful church built into the side of a mountain when I was about 11, and its wonder hasn’t changed a bit for me in the two decades since. You’ll park your vehicle and take a short hike up a winding ramp, then arrive at the top where the full beauty of the chapel and view of Sedona reveal themselves to you. The view of Sedona from the Chapel of the Holy Cross is pretty special. Inside, the chapel itself provides a welcome place of reflection and prayer if you’re so inclined.

Have a Meal at Enchantment Resort Then Take a Nature Walk in Boynton Canyon

When I was 11, I had one of the best nature experiences of my life in Boynton Canyon in Sedona. I can still picture the moment in my mind’s eye as if it happened yesterday. It solidified a moment in time for me when I discovered I wanted to be one with nature, following the seasons as guides on how to live my life and enjoying the outdoors as much as my life would allow me. That one experience is also why I return to Sedona year after year, seeking that same sense of eternal bliss.

That moment of bliss happened in Boynton Canyon, just outside Enchantment Resort. If you can, have a meal at Enchantment and enjoy the gorgeous views and amazing food. Then walk off some of those calories with one of the best nature experiences you may ever have.

Stock Up On Your Metaphysical Supplies at Crystal Magic

Crystal Magic in West Sedona has it all, from crystals and incense to candles and other tools. The shop’s floor plan is nice, the staff is helpful and it’s got a good vibe, which is an important quality when shopping for metaphysical supplies, I think. I really enjoy visiting Crystal Magic when I’m in Sedona.

The other shop I liked for crystals and fun gifts in Sedona was Mystical Bazaar, the place where you’re getting your aura photographed. They also had a great selection and a nice sale bin to boot.

I hope the next time you visit Sedona these tips help make your trip magical. Let me know if you go!
